You can find your user profile by first clicking the arrow next to the users icon in the upper right corner and then 'My profile'.
In this block you can activate or deactivate multifactor authentication for this user.
To enhance the security of your Billit account, you can set up multi-factor authentication or two-step verification during login. This means you need to confirm your identity using a second device or communication channel, which means that it is indeed you who is attempting to log into your account. As a result, it is no longer sufficient for cybercriminals to only obtain your login credentials and password to hack your account, ensuring significantly better security for your account.
Step 1: Install Proton Authenticator
You can use Proton Authenticator.
Install Proton Authenticator via:
https://proton.me/authenticator
Step 2: Add the Billit secret key
Open Proton Authenticator and click “Create a new code”.
In the Title field, enter the login email address of your Billit account.
Copy the secret key in Billit:
On the MFA screen, below the QR code, copy the long code.
Paste it into the Secret field in Proton Authenticator.
In the Issuer field, enter “Billit” to clearly identify the code.
Step 3: Enter the code from your authenticator
The authenticator generates a code.
Enter this code in Billit.
Click “Activate MFA”.
Two-step verification is now activated.
When you now log in to Billit, after entering your login and password, you will also be asked for a verification code. You can find this code in the authenticator app you just installed under the 'Billit' item.
To prevent someone from easily disabling two-step verification, you will need to enter the code from your authenticator app again if you want to disable the two-step verification. To do this, go to the 'Settings' section, then click on 'Deactivate MFA'.
